Having recently completed a first draft of a feature screenplay, I herewith forward the sentiments of Ernest Hemingway.
You’d think Winston would be more familiar with his classical mythology. He just set up a “black sails” situation.
Sure, sure, point out all the flaws in his plan. But I don’t hear YOU offering any better suggestions!
More honest than Theodore Sturgeon’s statement that “90% of everything is crap.” But as with Winston, we keep on keeping on as best we can. BTW, I’m all for chivalry but doesn’t Humphrey weigh the less of this group of heroes?
I was about 20 years old, on Active Duty and in the best physical condition I’ve ever been in, and stationed in Bad Kreuznach, GE. I tried to cross the Nahe River hanging on the steel cable they had strung across it for the ferry at Bad Muenster. I did not make it across. (Luckily, the Nahe is shallow enough at that point that I was able to wade out the rest of the way through the slow current.)
I don’t have high hopes for Winston on the cable.
Ahh, what did Hemingway know anyway? 🙂 Winston is amazing me here. But then again, he is rescuing the lady of his dreams (the ones Yithro and Shog aren’t messing with at least).
