What Is The Time?
I think this may be a record! I drew this comic in about an hour and a half when I realized I was going to be out of town for four days. All I have to do is not have any backgrounds! Problem solved.
As it happens, this was just a lucky break. I had this written already and it just happened to be one that wasn’t too complicated. I hope I don’t run into any more last minute crunches like this.
…and by hoping it, I have pretty much guaranteed the opposite.
The utter arbitrariness of Jan 1 has always been puzzling to me. To the point that I’ve looked up a lot of the history that caused it to be a bit more than a week off the logical date, the winter solstice. It’s a weird, weird cascade of events and decisions that convinced me that anyone who claims that fictional settings need to be internally consistent hasn’t read enough history.
We are totally on the same page here. I mean, I guess the circuitous route by which we have come to January 1 as New Year’s Day is internally consistent, but you have to go deep deep DEEEEEEP internally to get to the consistency! Like a Tootsie Roll Pop of logic.
