Awkward Pause
I went ahead and named the cook (who I invented a few weeks ago with no firm plans for her). I guess she’s going to make an appearance at some point, now. Any guesses what Iona’s last name is?
We seem to have strolled casually into a very unLovecraftian part of the story. Actually, we’ve been here some time. Maybe I should just draw a tentacle coming out of the water and leave it at that for now? That would be mysterious…
Eh, all I’ll say is, pacing a massive story 4 panels at a time is HARD and SLOW. Thanks for sticking with it!
In answer to your concerns, it’s okay, it’s far more than okay, it’s tres cool and grand and like taking up residence in a rabbit hole. Prefacing with an IMO: Lovecraft focused on the weirdness of his universe over the humanity of the people dealing with it.
I know I am (and I suspect that your dedicated readers are) Lilliana and Winston in varying proportions. Sometimes we can add Stanford, Earnest, Yithro, Shog, and others into the mix. The fact that Yithro came late to this hormone and adrenaline-fueled cosmos/reality doesn’t make him* any less of a participant. Poor squidly sap that he is.
*Gendering a multi-dimensional being is tricky business. My apologies if I missed.
