Kurt’s English has improved greatly, it seems. Either that, or I’ve been reading everything he’s said in the same way as when he was first shown until now..
… It’s in my head, isn’t it? You just WANT me to think he’s gotten better! You’re playing tricks, using the tomes you’ve found!
Fluency is one of those things improved by just going ahead and speaking, whether you’re wrong or not. What I forget is that they’re still in their first week of classes!
So basically, yep! Playing tricks with tomes! TIME TRICKS…
Seriously though, the way I treat Kurt’s malapropisms is to just use German word order. So when it matches English structure he comes off as fluent. Other times it’s a matter of wanting his dialogue needing to be clear so a joke comes across. And still other times I run out of room for the dialogue and rephrase it to the fewest words possible.
