If they are only about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks in why are they worried about midterms?
Because this professor is lazy and has been reusing exams for years on end. Now he has to do some work for a change. It doesn’t matter that he has plenty of time to do it. Also, I found out that “quiz” was not in common parlance yet so even though I used the word exam it doesn’t necessarily mean midterms or finals.
One of our professors became notorious for having five sets of exams that he would cycle through. His assumption was that no one who had taken it last time would still be in school when the cycle came around again.
One of the frats kept a big locker with all of the past tests for their brothers to use as study guides. They noticed this pattern pretty quickly. The professor then noticed that these brothers always aced his exams.
There was quite the discussion as to whether or not this constituted cheating.
I heard stories of this kind of thing, but never experienced it myself. If anything, it would have been my responsibility to collect answer keys for my younger brother. Sorry, bro, I guess I dropped the ball on that.
