Chapter: A Night To Remember, Spring 1912
Characters: Lam Len, Winston Coward
Location: R.M.S. Titanic
If miracles are going on, I think on the whole the survivors would have preferred “everyone on Titanic is saved.”
And who knows, this being weird fiction, they always could be, no matter how far the sinking occurred from the Bermuda Triangle!
I missed where Winston found the djinn bottle. I hope the sailor takes that advice because I don’t think Lam’s body is coming back up. And Winston isn’t coming back in any case.
So much to mentally juggle.
Going back to the previous installment, I know how hard it can be to communicate weird info under pressure, even without dealing with sickness and a TBI.
I also wonder (hope?) that Lam was chosen to host Winston’s consciousness because he was about to die from his sickness anyway, even without collapsing into the ocean from a combination of factors.
I’m fully aware that Yith aren’t remotely human, but whoo, that’s coldly efficient.
Was the “Solly Bottle”* part of the of the collection in the University crate?
*see one of Poul Anderson’s stories for that term.
“Solly Bottle” see Operation Chaos. It’s in one of the stories there. Romantic tales of a werewolf and a witch in an alternate WW2 and Cold War.
