I'm Alex Bradley, the “evil genius” behind Miskatonic U. I am a writer, illustrator, and animator with an unhealthy fixation on the works of H.P. Lovecraft. By the way, this is a drawing.
After the Atbash treatment they look Lovcraftian (FHTAGN = Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl > fhtagn < = usually 'dreaming'), but I suspect that is nowhere near the end.
YUFTOIN may be an acronym or some other word trick. and the leading E in the second word might belong to it, YUFTOINE or YUFTOIN'E.
I chased down a couple versions of the Mason/ Templar during the day. But this version has a meaning. I was getting stuff but I think I was feeling like Winston, no language was jumping out at me. Now I’ve got a real clue. And an excuse to re-read Mr. Lovecraft’s work. Call Of Cthulhu first.
Confirms my efforts. Thank you.

I have NO idea whether this is relevant.
Boy, I don’t want to discourage exploration of this amazing ambition, but I can safely say this was not an intentional allusion.
Whether or not it is relevant remains to be seen!
Absolutely. I have not been able to get any clue as to what “Candlestick” actually is.
The Latin on the blackboard means “foolish traveler”. It’s a big fat clue but I’m on break for the weekend.
I was going more for “stupid tourist!” But connotation is all in the context, of which there is none on that blackboard.
It is a very cat-like comment. Which has nothing to do with the code. And has more to do with why Yithro and Shog are being excluded.
