I though the coincidence of names was going to become a problem. Although Lovecraft and his circle spread the Innsmouth names around simply because they were relatively common New England family names. You probably couldn’t throw a rock in Providence without hitting a Marsh or a Gilman. And I’m sure HPL appreciated the pun value of the latter name.
