Nice tries, but no one has full credit yet… LameGamer72, your guess is actually a backronym, and ben, while you are technically correct as to what the three letters are, it doesn’t say what they stand for. lukasbrunner, you’re on the right track–but I guess you don’t need the points?
CQD – CQ Distress… the CQ is from the french sécu, an abbreviated form of sécurité. CQ basically became a notification on land-based telegraph for an alert, or precautionary message. CQD was specifically an alert for a distress call.
