Seconding what Eddi (especially what Eddi) and Slowloader said. Plus, if eldritch beings are enticing you to your doom, follow the advice of Odysseus and plug your ears. It also pays to always keep a warrior cat handy. >^^<
When R’lyeh once again surfaces, nuke it from orbit! It’s the only way to be sure.
I’ve also heard that the explorers who survive the longest after encuntering Cthulhu are the ones with the highest mobility-rates.

Indeed, Robert. I’ve always felt the longest-living Call of Cthulhu character would be an illiterate, near-sighted track star.
Don’t travel. Especially by boat, but better to just nix all travel plans just to be on the safe side. Most Lovecraft characters would be much better off if they just stayed where they were.
