Fun fact (eh, I don’t know how fun it is): Fraternities used to rush freshmen instead of the other way around. This was when fraternities started getting enough donations from alumni to rent or buy a chapter house, but not enough to keep it paid for from year to year. So fraternities would “rush” to get well-to-do new students into the house to help pay it off.
