I just realized that Zadok-Allen-looking feller in panel 2 is rocking a Cthulhi-beard.
And I just saw that typo and further cemented the link between Cthulhu and Chihuly.

I have seen Chihuly’s work at the Maryhill Museum (Sam Hill’s old mansion). He does great tendrils. And has a few Yog Sothothian spheres in spheres works as well.
